![]() ![]() Stage 3+ which is the same but the pucks are feramic (or ceramic, I forget) and then lighter 6 puck disc that has the most holding capacity. My set up is tial 770 with logs showing slightly north of 600WTQ in coldest winter to wheels, it is happy with AMD stage 3 set up which is "fibertuff" full disc, which means eight large pucks of friction material on a full face plate. That can easily put out 600WTQ / 750 crank TQ which will overwhelm everything but top notch TQ holding offering from AMD or dual/triple clutches. ![]() If your goals are modest torque, you'll probably be happy with TTV B5 FW with B7 top and stock B7 RS4 PP + some more aggressive disc. I do know a lot of people would recommend the AMD or JHM clutch combo, but from what I can see, both setups are B7 RS4 Pressure Plates (with AMD's being modified for B5 flywheel use) and an upgraded disk.ĪMD kit is B7 RS4 pressure plate with two modifications to it:ġ) modded plate, rivets and straps so it fits B5 FWĢ) modified diaphragm to exert more force The car will be making E85 K24/RS6 with rods power but this setup should be sufficient without breaking the bank. Opinions? Obviously a 6-puck disk would be able to hold more power, but at the expense of driveability. Looking for the best disk that will offer smooth engagement but still be able to hold a launch. Should OEM bolts suffice in this situation? Any clearance issues with the crank due to bolt length, or the clutch disk itself? TTV 2.7T to B7 Steel Lightweight FlywheelĬlutchnet Disk (Either full faced Feramic, Kevlar, or 6-puck**) However, through some research, there seems to be a debate on what flywheel bolts should be used and clearance issues.įor my setup, I'll be going with the following: When I was test driving B6/7's I did find that almost 100% of them had a vibration around 2K so I am thinking that it is "normal".When I'm doing my build, I'm highly considering going with a TTV Steel flywheel and B7 RS4 clutch setup. Anyhow there are times that at exactly 2K RPM (+/- 50 RPM) that I get a slight vibration but there are also times that I get no vibration.very weird. The PO had the clutch replaced at 53K (couple thousand miles before we purchased it) and I know the FW was replaced but I am not sure if they upgraded to the B7 DMFW or stuck with the B6 DMFW. It went up and down with the throttle both in gear at speed and in neutral.'04 S4 here and I experience the same thing. Tires need to be replaced but it was not an out of balance shake. Guys at the shop said that if it really was the flywheel then it would be a consistant shake and not intermittnet. It happened once on the track too but went away after cool down. But by the time I got it to the shop the problem had gone away. Is is possible to hav intermitent flywheel failure? I had what I would swear was a flywheel problem the other day. If you have any questions feel free to give us a call! Those are just a few of the reason why upgrading to our JHM Lightweight Flywheel and Clutch Combo can benefit you. 3) Stage 3 and 4 Clutch Discs are very streetable and do not compromise daily driveability, and 4) If you are not tracking or beating on your car, this setup will outlast an OEM setup. 2) Does not feature a failure prone dual-mass setup. 1) Our Lightweight Flywheel costs less than OEM. We still recommend going with our Lightweight Flywheel and Clutch Combo for a few reasons. I know most people recommend the JHM Stage 3/4 kit with LWFW but I do not plan on tracking the car or anything like that nor do I want the chatter and wanted to gain peoples thoughts on a OEM b7 flywheel and a stage 3/4 clutch kit.Īlso, since I know many people have done the upgrade, would any B7 owners happen to have a OEM B7 Flywheel kicking around?therealet23. Sometimes the vibration lessens after a spirited run (but it always comes back). No CELs, car runs and has power though it just vibrates (what could be perceived as a misfire) from the drivetrain and through out the RPMs whether in neutral or driving. My 2004 S4 (85k) has what I believe is the dreaded flywheel failure. I am new to the b6 s4 world (though I did have 2 b5's in the past). ![]()
